We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team in Ramsey, New Jersey. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in managing and preparing various tax filings while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Job Responsibility:
Prepare and file individual and corporate tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Oversee the accurate calculation and reporting of sales and use taxes
Conduct thorough reviews of tax documents to ensure accuracy and completeness
Assist in tax planning strategies to optimize financial outcomes
Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary financial data for tax preparation
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
Analyze and resolve tax-related issues or discrepancies
Provide guidance and support on tax-related matters to other departments
Maintain organized records of all tax-related documents and filings
Participate in audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities as needed
Requirements:
Proven experience in preparing individual and corporate tax returns
Strong knowledge of sales and use tax regulations
Familiarity with tax preparation software and tools
Ability to analyze complex financial data and ensure accurate reporting
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication skills for collaborating with teams and addressing tax-related concerns
Up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and compliance standards
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
