Job Description

As a Senior Tax Accountant for our VOIS Hungary entity, you will be responsible for both direct and indirect tax matters. This includes extracting and analyzing accounting data for tax purposes, preparing accurate tax calculations, reports, and returns, initiating timely tax payments, and supporting tax audits. You will also contribute to ad-hoc tax-related processes and projects, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.

Job Responsibility

  • Applying advanced tax and accounting expertise according to the local Hungarian legislation
  • Operating with a high level of autonomy and professional accountability
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior members of the tax team
  • Supporting the resolution of daily operational issues, including ticket management and problem-solving
  • Reviewing existing processes and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Assisting in the implementation and testing of new automated tax reporting solutions
  • Delivering tax-related training to cross-functional teams
  • Collaborating with other finance and accounting teams to ensure alignment and compliance
  • Ensuring adherence to SOX controls and internal compliance frameworks
  • Managing timelines and deliverables for tax return preparation and submission
  • Preparing internal and external reports for Group reporting activities, statutory audits and Tax Authority queries or audits
  • Providing support for any other query or project from a tax perspective

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Hungarian taxation
  • Fluency in Hungarian and English, both written and verbal
  • Strong multitasking abilities and effective prioritization skills
  • Excellent analytical and interpretive capabilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong customer orientation and service mindset
  • Proven track record of project management skills
  • Mentoring and coaching skills
  • Effective communication and influencing skills across various stakeholder levels
  • Confident presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly

Nice to have

  • Experience in group-level financial reporting and consolidation activities
  • Certified Tax Advisor qualification
