Our trusted client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Tax Accountant Consultant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan. This part-time position is ideal for someone with extensive expertise in tax preparation, reconciliations, and financial management. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to accurate tax filings and compliance while leveraging advanced accounting skills.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and submit individual, corporate, and sales tax returns with precision on quarterly and annual schedules
  • Conduct thorough reconciliations of bank accounts and financial records, promptly addressing and resolving discrepancies
  • Manage financial data using QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and system integrity
  • Review financial records for completeness and compliance, correcting any missing or incorrect entries
  • Provide tax-related assistance during critical periods, such as year-end and peak personal tax seasons
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all tax filings in alignment with current regulations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address tax-related questions and provide expert support
  • Stay informed on evolving tax laws and regulations to maintain compliance and provide accurate guidance
  • Oversee sales tax compliance, including reporting and adherence to applicable requirements
  • Offer expert advice on tax matters to optimize financial operations and decision-making

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on individual and corporate tax preparation
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks for managing financial data and ensuring accuracy
  • Extensive knowledge of account and bank reconciliations
  • Expertise in sales and use tax regulations and compliance
  • Proven ability to resolve discrepancies and maintain precise financial records
  • Strong organizational skills to manage quarterly and annual tax filing deadlines effectively
  • Familiarity with ad hoc tax tasks, including personal tax preparation during peak periods
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all aspects of tax accounting
