We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tableau Developer to join our growing data visualization team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Tableau Desktop and Server, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to create compelling and insightful dashboards and visualizations, including the effective presentation of statistical data. You will play a key role in transforming complex data into actionable insights for business stakeholders.
Job Responsibility:
Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and visualizations, incorporating appropriate statistical displays
Connect to various data sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and cloud platforms
Perform data modeling and transformation within Tableau to prepare data for statistical analysis
Create complex calculations, parameters, and calculated fields to enable dynamic statistical analysis
Develop and maintain Tableau Server workbooks and data sources, ensuring efficient data handling for statistical computations
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective visualizations, including statistical charts and summaries
Select and implement appropriate statistical methods and visualizations (e.g., distributions, correlations, regressions, trend lines, box plots) within Tableau
Provide training and support to end-users on Tableau functionality, including statistical analysis features
Stay up-to-date with the latest Tableau features and best practices, particularly regarding statistical data handling and visualization
Contribute to the development of data visualization standards and guidelines, including best practices for statistical displays
Perform performance tuning and optimization of Tableau dashboards, especially those involving complex statistical calculations
Troubleshoot and resolve Tableau-related issues, including those related to statistical data and calculations
Mentor junior Tableau developers in best practices for statistical data visualization
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field
4-6 years of experience developing Tableau dashboards and visualizations, with a focus on statistical data representation
Advanced proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Server, including statistical functions and chart types
Strong understanding of statistical concepts and methods, including descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational databases
Experience with data modeling and ETL processes
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate complex technical and statistical concepts to non-technical audiences
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Experience with other data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik Sense) is a plus
Tableau certification is preferred
