Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist to lead and execute comprehensive testing efforts for complex systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end quality assurance lifecycle, from developing strategic test plans to executing intricate test cases in both GUI and non-GUI environments. You will work closely with IT leads and project teams to ensure that all system components meet rigorous functional and business requirements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide expert advice on testing strategies, selection of tools, and resource identification
  • plan and organize testing efforts for large-scale systems
  • Design and develop comprehensive test plans, scripts and cases tailored to both technical and business functional validation
  • Perform systems integration testing (SIT), functional and non-functional testing, and specialized tests (e.g., stress and load testing)
  • Work alongside Project and IT Leads to support the analysis, design, and implementation of systems while participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
  • Create test data and user accounts
  • utilize database queries to validate data integrity and select appropriate test sets
  • Record and manage testing results using tools such as Microfocus ALM or JIRA, ensuring full traceability via a requirements matrix

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in the process, planning, and implementation of large-scale testing efforts
  • Strong background in manual testing within complex environments
  • Proven ability to analyze business rules and functional designs to define expected results
  • Proficiency in creating test cases, test data, and traceability matrices
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle and Software Test Life Cycle
  • Experience with API testing and coding automated test scripts
  • Knowledge and experience testing Registry systems (e.g., Catalyst)
  • Exceptional written communication skills for reporting complex findings to project owners and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) standards
