We are now looking for a Senior Systems / Product Engineer (Control Systems) to join our team in Tranby, taking a key role in shaping system and product architecture for advanced control systems. We offer flexible working arrangements where possible. You will join Power & Controls Solutions, a multidisciplinary R&D department developing advanced control and actuation products. The team consists of system architects and verification engineers who work closely with electronics, software, and mechanics disciplines to create embedded hardware and software products. Historically, our products have served the subsea oil and gas market. We are now actively expanding into new energy and electrification solutions, including subsea power distribution and control systems for offshore wind, as well as selected applications in other regulated industries.
Job Responsibility:
Act as the key interface between product owners, control system stakeholders and development teams
Take ownership of system architecture, requirements, and key design decisions for complex control system products
Hold overall technical responsibility in cross-functional teams delivering solutions such as subsea substation control systems for offshore wind
Collaborate with other Aker Solutions product groups and external partners and suppliers at the solution level
Support product owners in technical discussions with customers and delivery projects
Contribute to the development of system design methodology, best practices and supporting tools
Stay informed on relevant technologies, standards and industry trends, and help translate them into practical system solutions
Requirements:
A BSc or MSc in electronics, electrical engineering, software engineering or a related field
Experience in system‑, software‑ or electronics‑oriented product development
The ability to define system architectures, work with complex requirements and drive consistent technical solutions
Professional communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English
A collaborative working style, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Nice to have:
Power systems, subsea systems, or industrial control systems
IEC 61850, protection systems and power system integration
Model-driven development using UML and tools such as Enterprise Architect
Iterative development processes with focus on risk reduction, quality and system integration
Regulated or safety-critical industries such as energy, aerospace, or defense
Norwegian language skills
