Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a skilled and reliable Senior Systems Operations Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of Unix and Linux-based systems in a 24/7 enterprise environment. You will play a key role in ensuring system stability, performance, and security, while contributing to automation efforts and continuous service improvement. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, a deep understanding of Unix operating system, and the ability to work effectively in a fast -paced, collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
  • Contribute to increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
  • Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution
  • Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Experience with highly regulated Financial Technology environments
  • Strong experience with Linux systems administration (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu)
  • Experience with Ansible Playbook development/execution
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Collaboration with cross-function teams (network, storage, app teams)
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Ability to manage high-availability systems and clustering

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Shell scripting proficiency (Bash, KSH, etc.)
  • Experience with File system and storage management (LVM, NFS, SAN/NAS integration)
  • Knowledge of user and access management (LDAP, sudo, PAM)
  • Experience with Patch Management and system updates
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewall configurations)
  • Ticketing system experience (Queue/Ticket Management, Reporting, Dashboarding) in ServiceNow and Jira
  • Experience with PowerBI Dashboard creation
