Senior Systems Operations Engineer

• Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
• Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
• Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
• Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution
• Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
• Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

• 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 4+ years of strong Windows and/or Linux operating system administration experience in enterprise environments or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 3+ years of experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware
• Relevant certifications such as VMware, MCSA, or Red Hat (RHCSA/RHCE)
• Solid understanding of technology support operations, including ticketing and workflow systems, within a production environment
• Hands-on experience with PowerShell and Python scripting for automation and operational efficiency
• Proven problem resolution and incident management experience, including leading or participating in technical bridge calls during major incidents
• Strong understanding of SAN, NAS, and backup technologies, including performance, availability, and troubleshooting concepts
• Experience with cloud platforms such as OCP, Azure, or GCP, including hybrid or on‑prem to cloud integrations
• Working knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace
• Understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management
• Experience with on‑call support, Major Incident Management (MIM), or high‑severity outage handling in a 24x7 environment

Relevant certifications such as VMware, MCSA, or Red Hat (RHCSA/RHCE)
