Job Description:

As a Senior Systems (MEP) Superintendent, you will leverage your capacity for innovation and problem-solving to lead field operations to ensure an exceptional project is delivered to our clients. You will be involved in all aspects of MEP from coordination to close out to include Low Voltage, Security, Fire Protection Systems, Controls and all critical MEP Systems that allow our clients to thrive in their industries. You will oversee self-performed and contracted work ensuring compliance with contract documents and the project schedule while also implementing a culture of safety and quality.

Job Responsibility:

  • Implement a culture of safety and quality among Clark employees and trade contractors and conduct regular safety inspections to ensure all work conditions are in compliance with company, contract, and government regulations
  • Oversee the timely and quality installation of contracted work of either a total project or a particular scope, trade contractor, or portion of a project
  • Create and manage a plan to successfully sequence work, manage jobsite logistics, and track materials and personnel
  • Ensure a high quality of work consistent with project and company standards
  • Takes initiative and personal responsibility to deliver a project on schedule and on budget
  • Develop, update, and communicate the project schedule and exhibit a command of critical schedule milestones with all project stakeholders
  • Communicate the schedule effectively with contractors and project stakeholders. Lead multi-disciplinary meetings to gain universal buy-in on the project schedule
  • Manage, mentor, and develop team members to build a high functioning team
  • Cultivate strong relationships with all project stakeholders
  • Maintain professionalism while representing the company and team in internal and external meetings and interactions
  • Possess working knowledge of the owner contract, subcontracts, and vendor agreements
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of staff charts, general conditions, project costs, and demonstrate an understanding of key performance indicators (KPI) for the project
  • Participate in close out activities including punch list and building operations training
  • Demonstrate advanced problem-solving capabilities in finding ways to overcome constant obstacles, issues, and conflicts on the job. Identify long-term risks and find ways to advance the project plan to neutralize conflict and issues
  • Create a project site environment that inspires the team to perform at their best
  • A proven people leader with senior level experience in attracting, developing, and engaging diverse talent by fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture based on trust and respect
  • Proactively identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate and win the right work
  • Take an active role in recruiting top industry talent to join the Clark team. Identify, hire, and retain outstanding people
  • Exceed our stakeholders’ expectations by anticipating their needs, desires, and goals
  • Analyze contract documents for constructability, code compliance and functionality
  • Participate in MEP trade 3D coordination meetings and coordinated drawings submittal approval process.
  • Develop equipment protection plans for all trade partners and maintain compliance.
  • Guide and monitor MEP trade coordination and installation on site
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain MEP schedule in coordination with other superintendent(s) on site to maintain Project Schedule.
  • Review field installation and document field progress through tracking tools
  • Manage testing and commissioning efforts
  • Develop temporary power and utility plans for construction with local utilities.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in mechanical, electrical or fire protection/life safety engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline, or relevant work experience
  • 10+ years of experience working on large-scale commercial construction projects and managing MEP trades, experience with a general contractor preferred
  • 4+ years leading, developing, and motivating teams
  • Experience working on large scale construction, with MEP trade specific experience to create a vision that aligns the team to achieve desired results
  • In depth knowledge of the construction process to include scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and personnel
  • Demonstrated experience leading field operations and communicating plans effectively across multiple audiences and stakeholders
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable safety and building regulations (i.e., OSHA)
