Job Description

This role will serve as the subject matter expert for equipment specification, selection, and coordination for all Mechanical and Electrical equipment for Data Center Projects. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical systems and a minimum of general understanding of electrical systems.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and own the standard specifications for central MEP equipment
  • Optimize energy efficiency and sustainability for central mechanical systems
  • Gather project design needs across multiple projects to develop project-specific bid packages
  • Drive equipment consistency across projects
  • Review the available equipment from vendors, and recommend optimal vendor selections
  • Review proposals from vendors, and level bids on a technical basis
  • Review and approve submittals / shop drawings to ensure alignment with project needs
  • Verify that central systems are incorporated into the design, and installed, tested, and commissioned properly
  • Coordinate tightly with procurement to ensure Owner Furnished (OFCI) equipment is specified, bid, and procured to meet project needs
  • Create, edit and own specifications for projects
  • Coordinate with the external design team and engineers to understand the project needs

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in design and construction of data centers
  • Deep expertise in either mechanical systems or electrical systems for data centers
