Alter Domus is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior System Engineer to join our Global IT Operations Team. Job Responsibility:
Administer and manage Windows servers and VMware Virtual Server environments, including provisioning, performance troubleshooting, monitoring, and executing operational and break/fix activities
Oversee server-related resources such as Active Directory, IIS, DFS Namespace, and File Shares, while ensuring patch updates and security compliance
Manage storage solutions, including Powerflex and Synology, to ensure efficient data management and availability
Engage in data center management, including on-site visits as required for infrastructure implementation and support
Collaborate with network team to deploy and troubleshoot diverse network elements and infrastructure services
Collaborate with Application Support and Development teams to deploy, troubleshoot, and resolve application-related issues
Install and troubleshoot Microsoft and other system applications and solutions
Provide direct support to end users through various channels (in-person, phone, help desk ticketing systems) to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Support a global IT team, assisting users across multiple regions
Maintain clear communication regarding project progress and status with stakeholders
Ensure consistent, high-quality documentation for administration and operation of infrastructure, including topologies, configuration details, run-books, and recovery processes
Work closely with internal Operations and Cloud Teams to resolve support tickets and enhance operational efficiency
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork in a multi-time zone environment
Requirements:
3+ years of related IT industry experience, including provisioning, operating, monitoring, and maintaining systems hardware, software, and infrastructure
Experience in data center management
Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft technologies (server and client operating systems)
Proficiency in Citrix and VMware solutions
General knowledge of Linux
Experience in supporting and maintaining network infrastructure
Familiarity with Microsoft cloud solutions (Azure, Office 365, SharePoint)
Expertise in managing server-related resources with a focus on security
Proficient in remote connectivity troubleshooting (VPN, Citrix)
Technical competencies in Docker, Kubernetes, scripting, and automation (Terraform, Ansible)
Proven ability to collaborate with global team members in resolving issues
Strong work ethic with a passion for customer service and quality
Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills
Detail-oriented and organized approach to meeting deadlines
Self-motivated and adaptable to new challenges in a dynamic IT environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
