The SME-Level Senior Systems Engineer serves as a pivotal senior advisor to the SPD and Chief Engineer, applying deep technical and acquisition expertise to ensure the successful execution of the Division's portfolio. You will drive the strategic alignment of high-level requirements to program execution by translating leadership's vision into actionable plans in support of the Space Systems Command (SSC) SYD 84/MT programs at LA AFB, CA.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Chief Engineer (CE) in the alignment of requirements to execution for the Resilient MW/MT architecture
Interact with a multidisciplinary DoD technical workforce and defense hardware contractors to guide programs through major milestones like Critical Design Reviews and Readiness Reviews
Evaluate and oversee the development of essential acquisition and engineering support documents (i.e., TEMP, SEP, PPP, and LCMP, ICDs)
Supporting the development and maintenance of Program Interface Control Documents
Supporting program elements to execute major milestones, Design Reviews, and Readiness Reviews
Leading R MW/MT Architecture development and execution
Requirements:
At least 15 equivalent years of experience performing Systems Engineering and Acquisition Management activities in the government (military and/or civil servant), federally funded research and development center, or profit / non-profit government support / development Contractor arena
Knowledge of various quantitative techniques used to analyze data, develop models, interpret results, and brief senior-level DoD leadership
Must be able to work independently, as well as with a team, on time-sensitive high-visibility tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of systems engineering practices and acquisition management regulations associated with Major Defense Acquisition Programs
Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance (required)
US citizenship (required)
Master’s degree (MA/MS) in Engineering, Mathematics, Technology, Operations Research, or related field is required
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in math, engineering, or the sciences
