Job Description

This is a newly created role to support a growing pipeline of infrastructure projects. The environment is undergoing a major modernization effort after years of limited investment, including a planned migration to Microsoft Azure and the retirement of legacy virtualization. This role is ideal for a senior, hands‑on “JOAT” infrastructure professional with strong Windows, Active Directory, and networking experience, someone comfortable owning projects end‑to‑end and partnering with an MSP during a cloud transition before assuming long‑term operational ownership.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and support infrastructure modernization projects (server, network, cloud)
  • Maintain and improve on‑prem and hybrid environments
  • Act as a senior escalation point for Windows, AD, and networking issues
  • Support an Azure migration in partnership with an MSP and manage the environment post‑implementation
  • Assist with VMware decommissioning (planned for late Q3/Q4)
  • Participate in after‑hours support as needed
  • Mentor team members and assist with lower‑level support when required

Requirements

  • Multi‑site Active Directory administration
  • AD replication health and troubleshooting
  • Group Policy, Certificate Authority, file services
  • AD to Entra ID sync (Entra Connect / AAD Connect)
  • Patch management, OS upgrades, server rebuilds
  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure (infrastructure, backup, DR concepts)
  • Microsoft 365 administration: Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams
  • Strong Layer 2/3 networking fundamentals
  • DHCP, DNS administration
  • Firewall experience (Meraki preferred): Rules, traffic flows, site‑to‑site and client VPNs
  • Cisco switching and wireless: VLANs, STP, VTP, IOS
  • Cisco APs
  • 9800 WLC a strong plus
  • VMware experience (legacy environment)
  • SQL Server administration and upgrades
  • Backup and recovery platforms
  • Endpoint protection / AV tools
  • RMM tools
  • PowerShell scripting for: Microsoft 365 / Entra ID / Exchange, Windows Server automation
  • Prior MSP experience strongly preferred

Nice to have

  • Linux administration experience (Red Hat or Debian‑based)
  • Familiarity with Copilot, AI‑driven automation, or agent‑based tools
