Job Description:

HSBC is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to provide production support, manage incidents, and handle infrastructure provisioning for VMware-based technologies. The role includes responsibilities like capacity/performance management and adherence to ISR policies.

Job Responsibility:

1st – 2nd Line Production Support for the domain
Incident Management, ensuring all root causes are followed up with engineering / vendor
Deliver an Infrastructure and software provisioning for the domain
Be part of capacity and performance management capability for the domain in conjunction with engineering
Ensure SLA commitments are met, and escalate accordingly
Ensure ISR policies and procedures are adhered to
Work with Engineering and operations to ensure our environment is monitored appropriately and healthy

Requirements:

Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of VMware technologies & products, scripting, automation. (Vmware 6.x, powercli, powershell)
Deep technical understanding of IaaS, PaaS, software defined networking and Virtualisation
Existing proven technical skills covering Vcenter, Vrops and VRa/Vro skills highly desirable
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. It infrastructure support
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Cloud Services and Virtualisation
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Worked in a similar role before in a global organisation
Past working experience on relevant systems, i.e. Virtualisation technologies, automation, Storage, networks
Experience of using relevant software packages, i.e. Global service desk
Availability to work the shift pattern required for this role, i.e. Availability to be on a call out Rota is needed for this role
Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. Ad Hoc as needed globally
Willingness to undertake the training/study required in this role, i.e. Willingness to undertake training and study as needed for new products and services
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Virtualisation and cloud in a similar function is desirable but not essential
Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Global Support / Virtualisation and cloud is desirable but not essential
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Global Support is desirable but not essential
Previous experience of delivering an excellent customer service
