We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to support the migration and modernization of end-of-life (EOL) systems. This role will focus on upgrading legacy environments, including older versions of Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), to supported platforms to improve security, performance, and operational stability.
Job Responsibility:
Lead migration and upgrade of legacy systems to supported versions of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and RHEL (7/8/9)
Administer and support both Windows and Linux (RHEL) environments
Perform in-place upgrades and fresh installations of operating systems
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in legacy and modernized environments
Implement system automation and scripting using Bash, PowerShell, and Ansible
Manage patching, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation
Support backup and recovery solutions for system reliability
Work with virtualization technologies (VMware) to support infrastructure needs
Utilize configuration management tools such as Ansible, SCCM, and PowerShell
Ensure compliance with security and operational standards
Requirements:
8+ years of experience with Windows Server and RHEL environments
Strong experience with RHEL (5/6/7/8/9) and Windows Server (2008–2022)
Proven experience with system migration and OS upgrades
Strong troubleshooting skills for legacy systems
Experience with automation and scripting (Bash, PowerShell)
Knowledge of system security, patching, and vulnerability management
Nice to have:
Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, SCCM)
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware)
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
