Job Description:

Supported living services for adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Learning Disabilities. Some individuals may also present challenging behaviour. The role is to provide support, act as key worker, and handle emergency or complex situations using a person-centred approach.

Job Responsibility:

  • Take the lead as Senior Support Worker in the provision of support
  • Act as key worker where appropriate
  • Take personal responsibility for dealing with emergency or complex situations
  • Provide high quality support using a person centred approach
  • Lead the development of Person Centred Plans
  • Implement Person Centred Plans and support people in their daily living and personal care based on the Active Support Approach
  • Support people in undertaking activities or development in their own home and in the community, including employment, education and other opportunities
  • Maintain records relating to people's lives, service and individual financial affairs
  • Assist with drawing up of risk assessments
  • Liaise with external parties, carers and parents
  • Be responsible for the supervision of other Support Workers
  • Support residents to develop independence and life skills
  • Assist people to achieve daily goals & daily activities
  • Assist with the development of person centred plans
  • Provide personal care where needed

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting those with Autism in a senior capacity
  • Hold an NVQ L3
  • Must be flexible & able to work weekends and a mix of early shifts and late shifts
