Job Description

We’re looking for a Financial Accounting Expert (IC3) to join our Customer Success team. If you speak both “accounting” and “tech” fluently and have a strong understanding of financial operations in hospitality—especially within German accounting frameworks, you’ll feel right at home here. You’ll be the go-to person for hotel finance teams, translating complex accounting needs into seamless Mews workflows. Whether it’s reconciliations, VAT compliance, or reporting, you’ll help customers optimize how they run their books with Mews.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as the bridge between hotel accounting teams and the Mews platform
  • Guide clients through financial workflow optimization and system setup
  • Provide expert support for complex accounting issues, especially in: End-of-month and end-of-year financial reports
  • Accounting ledger and payout reconciliations
  • VAT and city tax compliance (particularly in Germany)
  • Billing and invoice corrections
  • Deliver best-in-class training and support to help clients master our tools
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to drive product improvements
  • Stay ahead of accounting trends in hospitality, ensuring clients remain compliant and competitive

Requirements

  • Experience in hotel accounting or finance operations (e.g. night audit)
  • Solid understanding of German accounting standards and VAT frameworks
  • Experience with PMS (e.g. Opera, Cloudbeds, Guestline) and accounting tools (e.g. DATEV, Xero, SAP)
  • Clear communication skills—you can explain technical topics to non-technical people
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a customer-centric mindset
  • Comfort with remote-first collaboration and working across teams
  • Interest in SaaS, business intelligence, or financial analytics in hospitality
  • Fluency in German
