An ethically driven fostering charity is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Supervising Social Worker to join their passionate team. This role is dedicated to putting the needs of children and carers first, offering a supportive environment where workloads are carefully managed to ensure every family receives a personal and meaningful service. The position is based remotely, covering Moreton, Birkenhead, Chester, Oswestry, and Ellesmere. It offers a part-time schedule of 30 hours per week (Monday to Thursday, 9am-5pm). The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a high-quality fostering service through the recruitment, assessment, and supervision of foster carers. As a remote worker, the individual will balance autonomous home-based tasks with regular travel across the North West to meet with families and attend recruitment events. The role also includes participating in an 'out of hours' duty rota approximately six times a year to provide emergency guidance to carers.
Job Responsibility:
Undertaking comprehensive Form F assessments and presenting reports to the Fostering Panel within required timescales
Providing high-quality monthly supervision visits and telephone support to foster carers
Contributing to the matching process and assisting with the placement of children in accordance with agency guidelines
Identifying training needs for foster carers and assisting in the delivery of workshops and support groups
Representing the agency at LAC reviews and placement meetings while ensuring all safeguarding risk assessments are completed
Maintaining accurate, current records on the 'Charms' system in line with Ofsted requirements
Requirements:
A Diploma or BA in Social Work (or equivalent)
Active registration with Social Work England
At least 4 years of experience within the fostering social work field, with a strong background in Children's Services
Exceptional report writing, analytical, and organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously
A full UK driving licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle are essential
