Job Responsibility:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of project staff — overseeing their workload, performance, and professional development — while ensuring high-quality deliverables through technical guidance and review
Be responsible for leading and managing signature projects
Conduct project initiation and planning
Develop and manage project plans including budgets, schedules, resource plans, and communication plans
Monitor progress and initiate action items to resolve exceptions or variances to the plan
Provide monthly financial updates, initiate client invoicing, and follow through on receivables
Act as the client's point of contact and key problem solver
Ensure that Primera’s management systems and processes for keeping our clients’ trust are followed and continually improved
Act promptly to identify and manage risks and opportunities in achieving client satisfaction
Apply our clients’ standards, guidelines, specifications, practices and procedures or appropriate industry
Maintain project documentation, including calculations, and project filing
Perform Quality Assurance Reviews
Contribute to the proposal process for key clients or multi-divisional projects
Manage or assist in negotiation of additional services for scope changes
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Direct experience working with utilities on power delivery projects and understand the overall design process
At least 12 years of experience in the engineering of substations, including field experience
At least 2 years of being a project engineer
PMP certification is required
Ability to interface and collaborate effectively with other team members
Expert at communicating highly technical issues with clients and management teams
Meticulous with a knack for quality
Ability to strictly manage the overall design and project delivery process
Enjoy numbers and the audit process
Delegation, mentoring and team skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Project
Understanding of CAD methods and procedures
Positive attitude
Enjoy developing relationships with staff and clients
Enjoy leading and mentoring people
Ability to properly delegate
Strong organization and communication skills
