Job Description:

Senior Student Success & Retention Consultant. Objective: Design and operationalize a student success framework for improving persistence, completion, and equity outcomes across campuses. Time Period: 150 to 180 hrs of work over 2 to 3 months. Student Success & Retention Framework (6–8 Weeks) Purpose To create a predictable, scalable student success infrastructure that improves persistence, completion, and student experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design and operationalize a student success framework for improving persistence, completion, and equity outcomes across campuses
  • Student Journey Mapping: Identify pain points in onboarding, orientation, and advising touchpoints
  • Early Alert System Design: Configure EAB Navigate/Starfish or Civitas predictive analytics, including risk thresholds and escalation SLAs
  • Advising Playbook: Define cadence for proactive advisor outreach (e.g., Week 2, Week 5, Week 8), communication templates, and case resolution process
  • Equity Impact Review: Ensure interventions work for underrepresented groups, which meet equity and inclusion standards

Requirements:

  • Student Journey Expertise: Proven experience mapping onboarding, orientation, advising, and support touchpoints to identify friction points and design improvements
  • Early Alert Systems: Hands-on experience with EAB Navigate, Starfish, or Civitas — configuring risk thresholds, escalation paths, and intervention protocols
  • Advising Strategy: Ability to build advisor playbooks, define proactive outreach cadences, and design escalation/closure workflows
  • Equity-Centered Design: Familiarity with equity frameworks in higher ed to ensure interventions support underserved populations and meet equity standards
  • Change Enablement: Skilled at engaging advising teams, faculty, and student support staff to drive adoption
  • Experience: 10–15+ years in higher ed retention, student success consulting, or as a senior administrator (Dean of Student Success, VP of Enrollment, etc.)
  • Technical Fluency: Comfortable with analytics and student success platforms (EAB, Civitas, Salesforce Education Cloud)
  • Deliverable Orientation: Able to produce Student Success Blueprints, Early Alert Workflow Maps, and Communication Toolkits that are immediately implementable
