This position is responsible for the design and engineering of solutions that ensure safety, reliability, and sustainability within oil and gas projects. The Senior Structural Hull Engineer is expected to contribute to project and organisational objectives by optimising designs, ensuring compliance with international codes and standards, and managing technical interfaces. The role plays a key part in the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering scopes, directly impacting project outcomes and long-term advancements.
Job Responsibility:
Selects appropriate engineering methods and procedures for achieving project requirements
Contributes technical solutions that align with organisational standards and strategic objectives
Leads optimisation efforts within design parameters and project specifications
Ensures all work complies with international codes, company, and industry regulations
Reviews and verifies that deliverables adhere to contractual and internal organisational requirements
Implements lessons learnt to maintain and improve integrity across projects
Proactively plans and completes assigned activities and deliverables within agreed timeframes and budgets
Manages interfaces across multiple project systems and disciplines
Coordinates with vendors, subcontractors, and third parties as necessary for technical scope execution
Provides technical reporting on scope execution, risks, and progress to stakeholders
Monitors compliance with all specified requirements and identifies potential change impacts
Acts as technical lead where applicable, ensuring successful completion of assigned engineering packages
Champions use of current best practices and latest industry learnings within the team
Supports knowledge sharing and technical development of assigned engineers
Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and sustainability in project delivery
Requirements:
Relevant Engineering Diploma in a suitable discipline
5 to 10 years of experience within the oil and gas industry
Demonstrated background in structural hull engineering and multi-disciplinary project environments
Comprehensive understanding of industry codes, standards, and regulations for structural engineering
Strong organisational, planning, and coordination skills across technical and project teams
Ability to drive projects to completion while maintaining quality, safety, and compliance standards
