The Senior Structural Engineer serves as the technical authority for structural design, analysis, and validation of Aerial Work Platforms (AWPs). This role ensures the delivery of robust, safe, and compliant structural systems across boom lifts, scissor lifts, chassis, platforms, and all load-bearing assemblies. The successful candidate will lead structural concept development, conduct advanced finite element analysis (FEA), define load cases, review prototype testing results, and ensure compliance with global standards throughout the full product lifecycle.
Job Responsibility
Lead the design and structural analysis of boom, scissor, chassis, and platform assemblies
Develop structural architectures aligned with performance, durability, manufacturability, and cost objectives
Perform detailed FEA modelling, fatigue analysis, and simulation correlation
Ensure structural integrity across all duty cycles and extreme operating conditions
Ensure all designs meet applicable ANSI, CSA, CE, ISO, and other global AWP regulatory standards
Produce high-quality engineering documentation, including DFMEAs, design reviews, and technical reports
Partner with Test and Validation teams to define structural test plans and interpret results
Lead root cause analysis for structural issues and implement corrective actions
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) programs to achieve structural and safety targets
Collaborate with Current Product Engineering to resolve field issues and drive continuous improvement
Work closely with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering to optimize designs for production
Ensure structural-critical features are maintained throughout prototyping and validation phases
Act as the subject matter expert for structural engineering within the Access division
Mentor and develop junior engineers in analysis methods, design principles, and best practices
Contribute to engineering standards, process improvements, and innovation initiatives
