Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer for a well established Engineering Consulting client of ours in the Vancouver. Our client services mining , energy and natural resource sectors in Canada and the US. For this particular role, prior experience with mineral processing, gold/copper projects is highly desired.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead complex structural engineering mandates across the mining, energy, and natural resources sectors
  • Oversee structural design and analysis for facilities, industrial structures, and infrastructure in remote and challenging environments
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors
  • Contribute to proposal preparation and business development initiatives
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree is an asset)
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant structural engineering experience
  • Significant experience leading projects in the mining, hydroelectric, and energy sectors
  • P.Eng. designation in British Columbia or eligibility for registration
  • Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with Canadian building codes and standards (NBCC, CSA S16, AISC)
  • Strong understanding of site execution and construction-phase support
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Experience contributing to technical proposals and business development efforts
