5 years + experience as a Civil Engineer within the Mining Industry, with demonstrated experience in the design and specification of structural engineering
Extensive mining, heavy industry and industrial experience
Excellent written and communication skills and stakeholder engagement capability
RPEQ accredited (or able to obtain)

Job Responsibility

Support major projects across broader R&I teams and offices
Work across the broader mining sector including underground and open cut, minerals processing, smelting and mining support infrastructure plus general industrial facilities, refineries, sugar mills, ports, water and wastewater installations
Build strong relationships with clients
Support the continued growth of the team to deliver for new and existing clients
Be a hands-on leader
Responsible for the team’s resource allocation & performance in both winning and delivering small to medium sized projects across the North Queensland region

Maintain and evolve the mapping watchdog and event mining systems to monitor system health and anomalies
Enhance the mapping CI system to support robust development and deployment workflows
Optimize performance of offline 3D reconstruction pipelines
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand system-wide dependencies and performance needs across perception, planning, control, simulation, and infrastructure
Work with the operations team to define requirements for data collection, preprocessing, labeling, and validation
Ensure that your work is performed in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and contribute to continuous improvement efforts

Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Geology or related discipline
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in structural geology, with at least 5 years in a senior or principal consulting role
Experience in mineral exploration and mining, with significant field and structural modeling experience required
Expert-level proficiency with geological and 3D modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Surpac, GOCAD, MOVE) and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS)
