Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
7+ years of employer stop loss underwriting experience
Extensive employer stop loss product and market knowledge
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Mentoring and coaching skills

Demonstrate strong relationships with external partners
Expertise in a specialty area such as Reference-based Pricing, Native American plans

Job Responsibility

Build and manage an Employer Stop-Loss portfolio with an emphasis on new business sales, renewal persistency, and hitting loss ratio targets
Work with sales team in a market facing capacity to develop strategic relationships with brokers, TPA’s, and other distribution partners
Identify and assess the impact of emerging risk and market conditions
Present rates and recommendations to broker and TPA partners with a consultative approach
Deliver dependable and timely service while managing daily interactions and pipeline activity
Act as a mentor and coach for junior underwriters by providing guidance and developmental feedback
Participate in Underwriting projects and division initiatives as needed
Recommend and participate in ongoing improvements to support department growth and workflow
