With 46 million members as of the end of 2025 — up 55% year-over-year — and approaching 50% of total gross bookings, Uber One has become central to how Uber drives platform engagement, cross-product adoption, and long-term retention across Rides, Delivery, and Grocery. The membership program is a powerful flywheel: Uber One members spend 3x more than non-members and retain 35% better across platforms. Cross-platform users who engage with both Mobility and Delivery generate over 3x the gross bookings of single-product users — and Uber One is the primary vehicle for driving that cross-platform behavior. The program delivers meaningful savings to members through ride discounts, free delivery, surge savings, cash back, priority service, and exclusive partner benefits (Amex, OpenTable, Clear Plus, Lime), creating a compelling value proposition that deepens user loyalty to the Uber ecosystem. The Uber One Membership Product Engineering organization comprises 70+ engineers working across 8 pillars — all in service of growing membership coverage, increasing user engagement, and delivering significant savings that drive long-term retention and lifetime value. This is a team whose work directly impacts Uber's top-line growth, retention curves, and platform economics at global scale. As the Senior Staff Software Engineer and Tech Lead for this organization, you will set the technical vision and architecture across one of Uber's highest-impact growth levers. You will operate at the intersection of product engineering, platform design, and cross-functional strategy — partnering closely with Product, Data Science, Marketing, and business stakeholders to build the systems that power membership acquisition, engagement, benefits delivery, and retention for tens of millions of members worldwide.
