Job Responsibility:
Lead and coordinate shifts, acting as the senior clinical presence
Supervise and support the multidisciplinary team
Act as a clinical escalation point and mentor for junior staff
Ensure safe staffing, patient flow, and smooth ward operations
Drive quality improvement through audits, governance, and best practice
Contribute to service development, change management, and staff development
Requirements:
Qualified Nurse with NMC Registration
Right to Work in the UK
Proven hospital-based surgical nursing experience
Demonstrable leadership and shift-management experience
Ability to prioritise, make decisions, and lead under pressure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A patient-centred, proactive, and solution-focused approach
Nice to have:
Mentorship / Practice Supervisor or Assessor qualification (or willingness to obtain) will be advantageous
