Senior Staff Geotechnical Engineer

• conducting geotechnical investigations and analysis
• performing boring layout for utility clearance
• supervising drill rigs
• classifying soils
• logging boring, test pits, and cores
• performing floor level surveys
• performing testing and observation services
• reviewing plans and specifications
• preparing geotechnical reports and letters
• assignments and compilation of laboratory testing and geotechnical calculations
• calculations pertaining to shallow and deep foundation design, pavement design, retaining walls, slope stability analysis, liquefaction, and settlement

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
• MS in Geotechnical Engineering Preferred
• 2-5 years of experience
• thorough understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering and/or engineering geology
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• positive attitude
• good organizational skills
• strong work ethic
• ability to work both independently and as a team member
• E.I.T. preferred, or ability to obtain within one year
