Senior Staff Geotechnical Engineer

• conducting geotechnical investigations and analysis
• performing boring layout for utility clearance
• supervising drill rigs
• classifying soils
• logging borings, test pits, and cores
• performing floor level surveys
• performing testing and observation services
• reviewing plans and specifications
• preparing geotechnical reports and letters
• assignment and compilation of laboratory testing and geotechnical calculations, including calculations pertaining to slope stability analysis, liquefaction, dynamic settlement, and pile design

• B.S. / B.A. in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering
• M.S. preferred
• 2+ years of experience, preferably with a geotechnical consulting firm performing duties described (will consider entry-level for staff engineer)
• thorough understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
