This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while supporting critical decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and attention to detail to lead financial close activities, prepare detailed reports, and maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Reconcile general ledger accounts and analyze balances to maintain accuracy and compliance with established policies
Prepare and review financial statements, providing insights into trends, variances, and potential issues
Develop and maintain detailed financial, costing, and operational reports to support organizational decision-making
Conduct complex bank and account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and ensuring resolution
Prepare and file sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations
Manage fixed asset records, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliation to the general ledger
Contribute to process improvements and the documentation of accounting procedures to enhance workflow efficiency
Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis to support financial performance tracking
Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure reliable financial information and compliance
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger management and financial close processes
Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including variance analysis and trend identification
Experience with sales and use tax filings, fixed asset accounting, and reconciliation processes
Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, as well as policy and procedure development
Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as Dynamics GP, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Avalara, and Vertex Sales & Use Tax
