Job Description:

Our client, a well-established and growing organization based in Ogden, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This is a key role that will support both the day-to-day accounting functions and more complex financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes. This position reports directly to the Controller and offers a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their accounting career with a stable and supportive team.

Job Responsibility:

Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements
Own portions of the month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data
Support external audit requests and documentation
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Review and refine internal controls and accounting procedures
Partner cross-functionally with other departments to support financial accuracy and compliance
Participate in process improvement initiatives within the accounting function

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger functions
Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.)
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus, but not required
