Senior Staff Accountant

• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, cash flow reports, and capital expenditure summaries
• Develop comprehensive schedules for audits such as annual financial audits, single audits, 401K audits, and tax filings, including Form 990
• Assist in creating and managing the organization's annual operating budget
• Ensure consistent transaction coding in financial systems, maintaining compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Monitor adherence to state and federal regulations, implementing internal controls to protect organizational assets
• Provide leadership and coaching to team members, fostering growth through training and mentorship
• Establish cross-training protocols to ensure coverage during staff absences and maintain documented procedures for critical functions
• Collaborate effectively with management, staff, and volunteers to support organizational goals
• Take on additional duties as required to support the accounting department

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related roles
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet preparation, and bank reconciliations
• Skilled in managing general ledger entries and journal transactions
• Expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
