Job Description:

Sopra Steria are looking for a DV cleared highly experienced Senior SQL Server DBA to join the team and support on their critical database services across a complex, secure environment. You will work closely with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams, playing a key role in maintaining their evolving SQL Server estate while driving automation and best practice.

Job Responsibility:

  • Advanced administration of Microsoft SQL Server environments across multiple tiers
  • Management of SQL Server Failover Clusters (WSFC)
  • Management of DR environments and failover processes
  • Support SQL Server workloads hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Plan and execute monthly SQL Server patching cycles
  • Develop T-SQL and PowerShell scripts to automate tasks

Requirements:

  • Current DV clearance
  • Extensive experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments
  • SQL Server administration (2016+ preferred)
  • High Availability (WSFC, Always On)
  • Backup, recovery, and DR planning
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimisation
  • Strong scripting skills (T-SQL, PowerShell)
  • Experience working in controlled / secure environments

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk
  • Exposure to automation and Infrastructure as Code principles
  • Experience supporting ETL or data integration platforms
