Job Responsibility

  • Install, configure, and maintain middleware messaging systems
  • Ensure middleware components are up-to-date with patches and upgrades
  • Respond to incidents reported by users or monitoring systems
  • Provide Service Operations support to internal and external customers in accordance with the terms of the customer contract and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Log and track issues using ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira)
  • Diagnose and resolve middleware-related issues, such as connectivity problems, performance bottlenecks, or configuration errors
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to address complex issues
  • Monitor performance using Dynatrace
  • Optimize middleware configurations to improve system efficiency and reliability
  • Participate in change advisory boards (CAB) and ensure all changes are documented and tested
  • Support release cycles and ensure rollback plans are in place
  • Create and maintain documentation for best practices and troubleshooting steps
  • Work closely with developers, system administrators, and network engineers to ensure smooth operations
  • Participate in cross-functional teams for project implementations or system upgrades

Requirements

  • Proficiency in middleware technologies such as: Messaging broker systems: IBM MQ
  • Proxy servers : HA proxy, Max Scale
  • Application servers: WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat
  • Hands on experience of operating systems (Linux Redhat)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is a plus
  • Familiarity with databases (Oracle, Maria Database, SQL Server) is an asset
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks is plus
  • Familiarity with load balancers (F5, AVI or Elastic) is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management
  • 2-4 years of relevant hands-on experience in system or middleware administration role
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), IBM MQ, or ITIL Foundation may be advantageous

  • Act as technical lead during Major Incidents (P1/P2), driving investigation, coordination, and recovery
  • Validate incident quality, escalation paths, and technical accuracy before handover to SRE or Engineering
  • Proactively identify operational risks and stability gaps based on incident trends and telemetry
  • Perform advanced root cause analysis across application stacks, middleware and integrations, backend services and databases, hardware interfaces and external airport systems
  • Own the end-to-end technical narrative of incidents and problems (what failed, why, how it propagates)
  • Support and sometimes lead post-incident reviews, ensuring clear corrective and preventive actions
  • Serve as escalation point for Specialists during complex or ambiguous technical issues
  • Design and maintain production-grade automation using PowerShell (primary) and Python (preferred)
  • Lead automation initiatives such as proactive health checks, self-healing workflows, noise reduction and false-alert elimination
