The Senior Specialist in Project Management at NTT DATA will lead infrastructure and data implementation initiatives for a leading financial institution. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer Science and at least 5 years of experience in project management, particularly in IT projects. Key responsibilities include project planning, team management, budgeting, and stakeholder communication. Preferred certifications include PMP and PRINCE2. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential. This is an on-site position in Malaysia.
Job Responsibility:
Project Planning and Execution: Develop project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Allocate resources effectively and manage project risks. Monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, and adjust plans as needed
Team Management: Build and lead cross-functional project teams. Assign tasks, provide guidance, and foster collaboration. Ensure team members meet project goals
Budgeting and Financial Management: Create and manage project budgets. Track expenses, approve spending, and optimize resource allocation
Supplier and Vendor Coordination: Source and manage external suppliers or vendors. Negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of services or products
Stakeholder Communication: Regularly update clients, executives, and other stakeholders on project status. Address concerns, manage expectations, and maintain positive relationships
Quality Control and Governance: Adhere to project management governance guidelines. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards. Implement best practices and continuous improvement
Requirements:
Able to independently manage assigned projects with minimal supervision, including planning, execution, stakeholder coordination, and issue resolution across key project activities
Capable of managing both Infrastructure and Data workstreams concurrently
Proven experience in managing multiple vendors and cross-functional teams
Demonstrates strong leadership and decision-making capability
Proactively communicates project status, key issues, and risks in a timely manner, with appropriate tracking and mitigation actions in alignment with the reporting manager
Maintains professional availability during working hours to support project activities and meetings, and communicates planned absences in advance to avoid impact on project delivery
Provides timely and accurate project updates through agreed reporting channels, ensuring adequate visibility for management decision-making
Possesses strong communication skills and is able to speak, understand, and write in English, Malay, and Chinese
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
Experience: 5+ years in project management, IT Project experience essential
Proven experience in managing project deployment and go-live processes
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and governance principles
