Senior Specialist, Procurement is responsible for managing the procurement of indirect goods and services across the organization. This role involves sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract management to ensure the best value is obtained for all indirect procurement activities.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect categories such as IT, operations, capital, professional services, facilities management, marketing, and HR services with a focus on capital equipment and construction
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess market trends that may impact supply and pricing
Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including document preparation, bid analysis, and supplier selection
Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and service level agreements
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, conducting regular business reviews to ensure performance metrics are met
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure alignment with the organization's procurement strategy
Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing any issues related to delivery, quality, or compliance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement process to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and prepare reports for management review
Support team members sharing knowledge and best practices
Requirements:
MRP experience
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
6 years’ experience in Procurement and/or Subcontracts. Experience to be one or a combination of the following: Supply Chain, Subcontracts, Contracts, Procurement, Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Compliance, Legal and Government compliance, and/or Finance. Coursework, or practical experience that demonstrates business acumen, compliance, legal, negotiations skills, analytical mindset, strategy development and execution
Nice to have:
A degree or master’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract law, and supplier management
Excellent negotiation and analytical skills, with a track record of achieving cost savings and service improvements
Proficient with procurement software systems and tools, as well as Microsoft Office applications
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines
