Job Description:

The Hygiene & Safety Senior Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing industrial hygiene and safety programs within Baxter’s operations. This role involves ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety across the organization.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive industrial hygiene and safety programs
  • Establish policies and procedures related to workplace industrial hygiene, safety protocols, and emergency response plans
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Design and deliver training programs for employees on industrial hygiene and safety practices
  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of industrial hygiene and safety programs
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in industrial hygiene and safety practices
  • Proactively contributes to zero harm in the workplace
  • Report all hazards, near misses and incidents
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO and other government regulations, legal documents and safety and ethical standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in hygiene and safety management, preferably within the healthcare or medical device industry
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs and conducting risk assessments
  • Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene and safety regulations, standards, and best practices in the workplace
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Nice to have:

A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist) is preferred
