Job Description:

Our senior quality assurance engineer is keen-eyed and able to spot inaccuracies from a bird's-eye POV. When a potential problem is detected, you are able to quickly swoop in before the problem can be realised. You will lead the development of functionality, regression, and testing solutions – developing test plans for both new and existing products. You’re a champion at implementing high quality standards throughout a product’s development process, not just at the end. You’re never satisfied with the status quo and are always looking for ways to improve. You actively take part in the discovery and design phases of new product feature development, promoting continuous testing as an attempt to guarantee an error-free final product. You act as the glue that holds the engineering and product teams together, working collaboratively throughout our products' life cycles. As someone who’s had years of experience, you will be working to set scalable strategies within the team and create an environment where QA engineers can thrive.

Job Responsibility:

Lead the development of functionality, regression, and testing solutions – developing test plans for both new and existing products
Implement high quality standards throughout a product’s development process
Actively take part in the discovery and design phases of new product feature development, promoting continuous testing
Act as the glue that holds the engineering and product teams together, working collaboratively throughout our products' life cycles
Set scalable strategies within the team and create an environment where QA engineers can thrive
Work closely with product managers, designers, and software engineers to ensure that we're delivering an exceptional experience to all our users
Ensure that deliverables on product requirements are delivered on time while maintaining functionality and design
Keep the concerned management team informed of the status of the testing processes and report any issues that may arise
Define the QA process for your team
Look at the current development process to identify opportunities for process enhancements
Conduct exploratory testing
Use various tools to find out the root causes of issues
Work with Jira (or other bug reporting tools) to communicate bugs effectively with engineers, PMs, and designers
Seek ongoing education to keep up with the latest QA strategies, programming languages, testing methods and tools
Adapt to constant modifications, adjust to changes in the workflow, and remain resilient to stressful situations
Manage time and prioritise tasks
Work with other QA Engineers to improve the QA activities across the business, and identify opportunities to improve manual testing efficiency and effectiveness
Write manual regression tests for new, and existing features, and work with other software engineers to determine which tests need to be automated

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field
A hands-on QA background with ideally more than 5 years in manual testing
Experience using scrum methodology to address issues and potential bugs within an application during development cycles
Be a strong leader with experience in implementing and shaping the company’s QA processes and strategies
A focus on continuous QA improvements including usage of appropriate testing tools and test techniques
Strong communication skills with all the key stakeholders to ensure QA vision is understood and implemented correctly
You have experience working with engineers, and have a decent understanding of web tech stacks (backend, frontend, and everything in between)
Attention to detail to ensure that all your tasks are completed to the business’ specifications, preventing tasks from needing to be redone or revised to meet requirements later
Problem-solving skills to help you find solutions if you are struggling to meet the required quality standards. A combination of creativity, logic, and critical thinking can serve you well when challenges arise in your duties

Nice to have:

Experience in using Robot Framework or Selenium
Previous experience in a startup environment
Experience working with a remote team
Experience working in the legal services industry
