Job Responsibility:
Work on Requirements: Work with the Product and Engineering team members to design and develop large scale distributed software services and solutions
Work on Design: System design through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, code reviews, leveraging data/telemetry to make decisions, facilitate design reviews
Work on Implementation: Develop “best-in-class” engineering for our services by ensuring that the services and the components are well-defined and modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored and reusable
Work on Quality: Improve test coverage for services, organize and implement integration tests, and resolve problem areas
Work on Deployment: Consider testability, portability/monitoring, reliability, and maintainability, and understand when code is ready to be shared and delivered
Work with Customer in mind: Gain a working understanding of Microsoft businesses and collaborate with mentors and leaders to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users
Work on Operations: Troubleshoot and optimize automation, reliability, and monitoring for Live Site
Work with AI: Accelerate responsible AI adoption across engineering (AI-assisted design, coding, testing, and operations)

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Nice to have:
4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to: C/C++, Golang, Rust, C# OR equivalent experience
8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in (not limited) C++, C#, Java, Go, Rust
OR equivalent experience
Experience building global distributed services
Understanding of networking and network security fundamentals, including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, routing, and proxy-based architectures
Hands on experience with developing and running services on Linux / Unix environments
Hands-on experience with AI as a user and as developer: LLMs, Azure OpenAI, MCP, RAG, Agents is a plus
Hands-on experience with IAM, IdPs, OAuth, etc is a plus
Hands-on experience with high-performance datapaths and L7 proxies (e.g., Envoy, NGINX, HAProxy) and/or packet processing (e.g., eBPF, DPDK, XDP) is a plus
Hands on experience with K8s, containers and deployment pipelines is a plus
