Job Description:

Join HSBC as a Senior Software Engineer, where you will contribute to Japan applications development and support, provide technical consultancy, and work with modern cloud and IT solutions in a hybrid work setting.

Job Responsibility:

Japan applications development & support
provide technical consultancy and production support for the business user
complete assigned development tasks
responsible for developing effective relationships with business units (DBS & Markets, Securities Services)
ensures that required IT services are identified, developed and supported to the satisfaction of the business
add value to the business by providing pro-active consultancy and expertise in IT across all disciplines and bring IT concepts and solutions to the business management teams which improve the running of the business
provide project coordination and system expertise to support the delivery of GBM related projects in accordance with both group and local requirement
other relevant tasks required by line manager.

Requirements:

Hands-on Java, Linux, relational database experience
good communications skills
cloud computing, AI etc. technologies knowledge/experience
university BA or BS degree or above holder
above 5 years work experience in IT industry
proficient with Java and server-side web or cloud based development, using Java EE, Spring (Batch, Integration, MVC), Spring-Boot, Hibernate, Mybatis, Maven
proficient with database, e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL
knowledge and experience in some of the industry standard J2EE application servers like Tomcat
knowledge and experience in web-application front, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, Angular and VUE
familiar with development tooling, like Git, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
development experience with OO design and design patterns
knowledge and experience in Agile and DevOps (Continuous Integration, Jenkins, Ansible, Sonar, Selenium, Scala, Kotlin)
familiar with or able to rapidly adapt to HSBC organizational policies, practices and standards
be well conscious of being good team player, working professionally, and following compliance, IT security
positive ‘can do’ attitude, high level of drive to meet aggressive deadlines and targets
needs to have excellent planning, time management, analytical and problem solving skills
ability to learn quickly and solve problems and to manage multiple demands and changing priorities.

fluent in English, both writing and speaking
Japanese language proficiency will be an added advantage
knowledge of Financial business.
