Job Description:

HSBC is seeking an experienced professional for the role of Senior Software Engineer. Responsibilities include supporting production services, monitoring system health, resolving incidents, and collaborating with global teams. The role requires skills in SQL, UNIX, big data platforms, cloud knowledge, and programming languages such as Python and Java. ITIL knowledge and experience in Oracle or Sybase are beneficial. Job Responsibility:

Provide level 1 support to the production services (e.g. Incident/batch/release management, request fulfillment, system DR)
Monitor the healthiness of Production systems and recover the systems as quickly as possible when incidents occur
Analyze and trouble-shoot all kind of Production system issues
Participate in incident management and collaborate with the level 2 support to resolve the incident for all kind of system problems
Participate in system releases and post-release incident management and reporting
Analyze and resolve issues/requests from business users
Communicate with business users and production support managers to report system status
Document support procedures and system knowledge for knowledge management in a global scale

Requirements:

A university graduate with degree in computer science or a related discipline
Strong SQL knowledge
UNIX / Shell scripting
experience on big data platform
Oracle or Sybase specific knowledge
Knowledge of cloud platform, e.g GCP, AWS
Python, Control-M, WebSphere, WebLogic and Java
C# and Mainframe
ITIL knowledge/certification
Strong communication skills and documentation skills
Fluent in English, good communication and writing skills
Sense of urgency

Ability to work under stress and deliver in a responsive manner
DevOps principles & automation tools

Nice to have:

Oracle or Sybase specific knowledge
