Job Description:

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help design and deliver a Trading application within the GBST Composer Platform, ensuring solutions align with established architectures and best practices. This role is central to building next-generation wealth management capabilities by integrating advanced trading functionality into Composer’s core administration features.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable full stack solutions that enable trading functionality within Composer, leveraging modern web and cloud technologies
  • Work closely with product, design, and trading domain experts to deliver new client-facing features that enhance platform capability and user experience
  • Lead technical discussions, contribute to architectural decisions for trading integration, and mentor junior engineers
  • Drive continuous improvement through code reviews, testing, and agile development practices
  • Work on wealth management and trading products with a focus on reliability, security, and innovation

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in software development
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring, and Hibernate
  • 3+ years working with: Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Automation tools (Jenkins)
  • Scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python)
  • Advanced skills in relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
  • Proven experience in software analysis and design for complex financial systems
  • A user-focused mindset, delivering well-designed, intuitive solutions
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Legal right to live and work in Australia

Nice to have:

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and database automation to streamline deployments
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL)
  • Previous experience in wealth administration or trading technology, and familiarity with financial instruments, order management, and trade lifecycle concepts (highly advantageous)
