Positioned at the intersection of C/.NET SDK development and Kubernetes, this role is instrumental in enabling AI-driven development workflows across the Microsoft Threat Protection (MTP) organization. By streamlining infrastructure and developer tools, the IDP team empowers engineers to build and scale services more efficiently and reliably. Job Responsibility:
Design, implement, and maintain secure Kubernetes workloads, applying best practices for network policies, RBAC, and software supply chain security
Partner with security, compliance, and platform engineering teams to integrate Kubernetes security controls with broader security frameworks and tooling (e.g., Microsoft SDL, Defender for Cloud, 1ES)
Identify security gaps and operational risks in Kubernetes environments and drive concrete engineering improvements through code, automation, and tooling
Participate in design and code reviews with a security mindset, providing actionable feedback that raises the overall security bar of the team
Requirements:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience
8+ years of professional hands-on software development experience, primarily focused on developing and designing backend services in cloud or on-premises environments
Experience working with distributed computing platforms for high scale systems
Experience taking initiative, map product/feature requirements, dependencies, and deliverables
Experience working with Kubernetes and Containers
Experience in the cybersecurity domain
Experience in designing, building, and operating large-scale resilient distributed systems
Experience/familiarity with application and system monitoring systems
Demonstrate success dealing with ambiguous “unsolved” problems
and the ability to independently make solid progress by breaking new ground
