Job Description:

Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies. Looking for Senior Software Engineer to join core team and perform mix of design and implementation tasks to advance technical foundation behind Fivetran product offering. Team tasked with evolving high performance extract-load-transform data integration system that enables engineering teams to correctly implement hundreds of data connectors with minimal maintenance effort.

Job Responsibility:

Learn deeply about Fivetran to focus development on practical system improvements
Contribute to development and planning of roadmap
Collaborate with core team and broader stakeholders
Work across project lifecycle: requirements, design, prototype, implementation, review, release, monitoring
Review and approve pull requests
Care and feel ownership of product

Requirements:

Execution-oriented with ability to target innovation budget for greatest impact
Ability to design and code systems that are effective, intuitive, easy-to-operate, and elegantly simple
Experience with relevant tooling and techniques: cloud services, network protocols, serialization, relational databases
Knowledge of complex structures, object orientation, exceptions, memory management techniques
Experience working carefully with high impact software team
Expertise and productivity with both modern and legacy software development environments

Nice to have:

Experience with data replication, ETL/ELT tools, cloud and software defined infrastructure tools (AWS Cloud Formation, Kubernetes, Docker), API technologies and analytics
Knowledge of DBMS internals
Familiarity with low level concepts such as encoding and internals of network communication
Familiarity with system level programming (process and memory management, inter-process communication)
