Job Description:

Azure Data, the big data analytics team provides a range of products that enable data engineers and data scientists to extract intelligence from all data – structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. We build the Data Engineering, Data Science, and Data Integration pillars of Microsoft Fabric. The Data Engineering and Experience Team as part of Microsoft Fabric deals with interesting technological challenges such as big-data processing, cloud computing and open-source software. We build reliable, highly scalable and highly performing distributed systems for data analytics on Azure. We are creating a planetary scale analytics system on Azure, which can scale to Exabyte of data (yes, that’s 18+ digits!). We are building the next generation globally distributed, elastic scale, multi-model cloud analytics services. It is designed to enable developers to build planet-scale applications.

Job Responsibility:

Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to establish and improve performance, maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI)
Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for product scenarios
Drive identification of dependencies and the documentation and development of design to completion for a feature, product, application, service, or platform
Leverage subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., product managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items
Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers in developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate
Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Mathematics or Physics or related technical discipline
6+ years of software engineering and product development experience in industry
6+ years of proven track record of shipping end-user software services or products
6+ years of in-depth object-oriented programming experience in (not limited to) Java/C++/C#
Equal ability in reading and enhancing existing code as well as writing entirely new code from scratch
