Job Description:

The Monetize Platform is a platform to provide an open, transparent marketplace and powerful enterprise technology enabling marketers to connect and engage consumers on thousands of high-quality websites and apps. It's an advanced buy-side and sell-side advertising technology platform that enables buyers and sellers to access and trade premium inventory in a transparent and streamlined environment. Microsoft's Monetize RTP Team is hiring an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join Monetize RTP Team, specifically focused on building high performance, distributed C/C++ applications serving millions requests per second.

Job Responsibility:

Work with appropriate stakeholders to determine product and application requirements for a set of features
Own significant areas of application logic and the platform, driving its requirements, development and evolution
Work independently with multiple teams to drive projects to completion
Create and implement code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable
Contribute to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provide LOE
Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems
Remain current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
Microsoft Cloud Background Check

Nice to have:

Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience
OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience
5+ years of experience as a professional software developer
Excellent and creative problem-solving abilities
Experience building high performance, multi-threaded, distributed systems and applications, preferably in a Linux environment
Experience practicing advanced optimization techniques
Solid fundamental understanding of generalized architecture patterns and service-oriented architecture (SOA)
Excellent Computer Science fundamentals with regards to data structures, algorithms, time complexity
