Job Description:

Join HSBC as a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the continued success of platform products and services, and collaborate with stakeholders across diverse functions. Responsibilities include support for product owners, compliance management, designing user stories, and facilitating DevOps improvements.

Job Responsibility:

Providing support to Product Owner in making and keeping the platform product a success—by ensuring that it offers a strong value proposition to the customers and users and that it creates the desired business benefits
Providing support to Product Owner and DevOps teams on delivery, ongoing success & continuous improvement of a discrete set of platform services that are used/consumed by other DevOps Teams
Providing support to Product Owner in ensuring compliance of the platform services with mandatory and regulatory requirements, control objectives in the risk and control framework and technical currency (in line with published standards and guidelines) and, with the architecture function, implementation of the business imperatives
Providing support to Product Owner to ensure that work is de-constructed and translated into development activities across teams
Supporting the design of large user stories (epics) which are broken down into smaller stories (product backlog), which is a prioritized features list for the product which is used by Agile Teams to develop technology solutions
Work with product owner & team to ensure that the lead time to deploy changes is continuously improving and benchmarks appropriately across other functions within the DevOps team
Work with product owner & team to ensure that high levels of automation are implemented and maintained across the teams
Work with product owner & team to ensure that service levels are maintained and improved
Ensure the pricing model for the products and services is managed in line with controls applied by the Head of Cloud Service Platform and associated Chief Information Officer (CIO) function
Keep up to date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable
Any Ad Hoc duties as required by Product Owner and Technical Product Management Lead

Requirements:

Experience with product development and deployment activities including identifying opportunities and developing business cases, defining product requirements, engaging with Platform Architects and Technical Leads to agree backlog prioritization, deployment approach, project execution, launch, and post launch performance measurement and management
Experience as Scrum Master and/or Project Manager
Excellent verbal and written (English) communication and interpersonal skills with ability to positively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
Good problem-solving skills
Demonstrable resilience and ‘can-do’ attitude
