The Security Copilot team builds and operates the core agent‑orchestration and AI‑driven capabilities that power Microsoft’s next‑generation security experiences. We are looking for Senior/Software Engineer II's to join our team! These roles are centered on designing and scaling agentic services, developing robust orchestration layers that interface seamlessly with LLMs, and driving technical excellence across partner integrations to enable high‑performance, reliable agent‑based workflows. This position plays a critical part in evolving the platform’s architecture, ensuring responsiveness, reliability, and secure execution at scale while collaborating closely with cross‑functional engineering, product, and partner teams to deliver efficient, customer‑centric agentic applications.
Job Responsibility:
Development of our enterprise-based platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and drive the implementation of innovative solutions that are required for Microsoft Security services to deliver copilot experiences
Implement best practices for model evaluation, and deployment in production environments
Collaborate with product management to prioritize features and roadmap initiatives based on customer needs and market trends
Ensure adherence to coding standards, software quality, and best practices for software development lifecycle management
Empower thousands of engineers to leverage the extensibility framework through the creation of framework learning and maintenance processes
Develop the material needed to empower others to build on top of Copilot for Security Platform
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 2+ years of engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Nice to have:
Hands‑on experience implementing software features with proficiency in project programming languages, tools, and frameworks, delivering engineering tasks with minimum guidance
Ability to identify, debug, and resolve issues independently within owned code areas, supported by understanding of architecture for components you own
Practical experience following software development best practices - coding, testing, debugging, documentation - and contributing reliably to team deliverables
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
