Job Description

Our Risk Engineering team is responsible for fighting fraudulent use of Found and minimizing losses related to risk and bad actors in the system, while maintaining an excellent user experience across the core product and internal operations. We value moving fast, safely. The team has a large impact on how we grow our business and is responsible for external facing features, frameworks used by other product engineering teams and internal workflows.

Job Responsibility

  • Collaborate with product engineering, risk operations, and other cross-functional teams to build and ship products
  • Have ownership across a large breadth of surfaces - frontend systems, batch and stream data processing pipelines, and backend services
  • Build, maintain, and iterate on code quickly and safely
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to the direction of the team

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with backend and frontend frameworks and technologies
  • Worked on sufficiently complex distributed systems that required balancing building in-house and integrating off-the shelf services
  • Experience with relational databases and working with large-scale databases
  • A passion for writing clean, simple, and self-documenting code

Nice to have

  • Experience with data systems or machine learning
  • Experience or interest in financial services, accounting, and/or self-employment
  • Experience as a tech lead or an architect
  • Experience driving initiatives across an organization or a company
