Requirements

5+ years of experience building large-scale frontend applications using React
Bachelor's degree with a preference for Computer Science degree
Understanding of modern frontend ecosystem, including but not limited to bundling, linting, testing and releasing
Experience with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Mocha, Chai)
Familiarity of the JavaScript language and ecosystem
Experience building frontend applications at scale
Experience in Agile software development methodologies
Experience engineering software systems of medium-to-large scope and complexity
Success with mentoring more junior Engineers

Job Responsibility

Deliver large and complex projects autonomously, from technical design to launch
Build client code that is efficient, fast, testable, scalable, and high quality
Promote collaboration with other engineers, designers and managers to understand user pain points and iterate to deliver solutions
Partner with design and product and across other engineering teams to develop delightful customer experiences
Contribute to code reviews and documentation, and take on complex bug fixes
Onboard and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

10+ years of development experience overall
Strong communication skills with proven ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholder groups
Development experience working on customer-facing, web-based systems
Experience designing, building, and operating large systems with scalability, availability, and performance requirements
Experience working in an agile environment with iterative development and fast feedback
Experience with tools that ensure your high-quality work makes a smooth, automated, repeatable transition from your machine to our staging and production environments
Experience working in a global distributed environment

Designing, coding, testing, and shipping microservices and user interfaces that power our new pricing platforms
Collaborating closely with engineers across teams
Working on systems that manage millions of dollars of PagerDuty revenue, building new features to improve our pricing, checkout, licensing, and billing systems
Solving interesting technical challenges while helping to scale our product to keep up with demand
Participating in your team’s on-call rotation, triaging and addressing production issues as they arise
Working cross-functionally with product, design, finance, and other teams to ensure our pricing platforms meet business and customer needs

Requirements

B.S., or M.S. in Computer Science or similar technical field of study (or equivalent practical experience)
Extensive software engineering experience
Proficient in frontend development
Moderate backend experience, specifically with Python or Java
Experience with databases and SQL
