Job Description:

Senior Software Engineer (SRE) to work closely with other custom developers and a peer Site Reliability Engineering practice within EFT supporting multiple technology divisions. The role focuses on solving operational issues through code, driving technology transformation, and ensuring applications are available with full stack observability.

Job Responsibility:

Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain
Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges
Lead projects and act as an escalation point
Instantiate Site Reliability Engineering and AIOPs capabilities
Assist in training skilled peer engineers
Introduce and mature the adoption of enterprise capabilities, tools, and innovation
Evolve AIOPS, introducing self-healing and autonomic capabilities
Automate key SRE metrics and IT Service Operations processes
Share support responsibilities for critical applications and customer journeys
Closely collaborate with EFT application development teams
Act as an advisor to leadership
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges
Partner with application owners and support teams to understand system architecture
Liaison between infrastructure monitoring and application-level observability
Design and implement end-to-end observability solutions
Integrate observability tools into application environments
Optimize dashboards, alerts, and reports
Use SQL to extract, analyze, and correlate data
Support root cause analysis and performance tuning
Continuously refine monitoring strategies
Maintain clear documentation of observability configurations
Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions

Requirements:

4+ years of Software Engineering experience
4+ years of Engineering experience
4+ years of designing and building complex observability solutions
4+ years working with configuration and monitoring technologies such as Ansible, Grafana, Elastic, Splunk, Prometheus
3+ years of Java, C#, Python, or other object-oriented software engineering experience
3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies
3+ years of experience supporting enterprise level complex applications and platforms in Production
3+ years of experience performing engineering and support tasks on Linux/Unix and Windows Servers
3+ years of design, implementation and governance experience with Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing or Machine Learning architecture, GenAI & LLMs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience presenting to senior leadership
Prior experience driving SRE discipline/adoption across a portfolio
Experience with Observability/Monitoring technologies: Splunk, Elastic Stack/ELK, Grafana, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Kafka
Experience with Container technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, PKS
3+ years working with configuration, CI/CD and automation such Ansible, Jenkins, Gitlab, Artifactory
3+ years of Unix or Linux administration experience
Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban

Nice to have:

Experience with Monitoring, Observability and AIOPS: Splunk Observability Cloud, Big Panda, Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic Stack (ELK), AppDynamics
Software Development: Python and/or combination of other object oriented and scripting language(s)
Automation: Ansible, Amelia, Terraforms
Database: SQL, Oracle, PLSQL, MongoDB, RDBMS and NOSQL, Basic Data Modeling
OS and Platform: Azure, GCP, PCF, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Linux, Windows
CI/CD: EPL/EPLX, Jenkins, Gitlab, SonarQube, Artifactory, Liquibase
Track record of creating innovative and complex automation solutions a combination of tooling and code
AI & GenAI: Tachyon, Microsoft Co-pilot, NotebookLM etc
